Varsity Boys Basketball Team
Lyndon Love attended South Oak Cliff High between 1983 - 1987. He played
for the legendary coaches Jimmy Gales and Alex Gillum. Coach Love
played two years at TSTI-Waco Junior College from 1987 - 1989 for head
Coach Carl Love. He transfered to East Texas State University where he
played for Hall of Fame, Coach Paul Peak from 1992 - 1994.
His mentor was Rodney Reed, a ex-South Oak Cliff HS Basketball Coach. Reed encouraged Love to coach basketball and taught him the ins as well as the outs of coaching and the rest is history. Love first started coaching at South Oak Cliff in 1997 under ex- Head Coach Rodney Reed. Love was an assistant coach when South Oak Cliff HS Boys Basketball Teams won the Texas State Basketball Championship in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Coach Love's vison for the Carter Basketball program is to first build an all around sound successful basketball program academically and athletically. The Carter High School Basketball organization wants to be second to none. Their mission is to build and guide young men in the program to be all around successful young men. These young men will leave equipped with the tools to go off to college and graduate with a degree. The young men will come back as men and make a difference in their community as well in their family lives.
By building a academically and athletically sound program Coach Love goal is to win the first state championship in basketball for the proud David W. Carter High School Basketball Program. The Dallas Carter Basketball organization wants to be that special program that every one wants to be apart of and the winning program that young basketball players would love to come play for.
