About David W. Carter High School
David W. Carter High School, located in the Oak Cliff community of Dallas, Texas, opened in 1966 and serves students as part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school is named in honor of David Wendel Carter, a civic leader whose work emphasized education, community development, and public service.
Since its establishment, Carter High School has been committed to providing students with a well-rounded education grounded in academic achievement, leadership development, and community engagement. Over the years, the school has earned recognition in academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular programs, reflecting the dedication of its students and staff.
